Did a series of interviews with Paul O'Gorman of Radio
Lancashire this morning. They were for their 'Hidden Lancashire'
series and we covered the historical background of the Lancaster
Canal South & the Whittle-le-Woods millstones. |

Wigan Archives and Leigh Town Hall tour. This fascinating tour
of Leigh Town Hall was led by Tom McGrath around the 1907
building then down into the Archives in the basement. |

Today we said our final farewell to Whittle resident Muriel
Sharples (1935-2023). Muriel died at her home last month at the
age of 88 and was the widow of Jack Sharples who died in 2017,
also at the age of 88. Family and friends gathered for the
funeral on a beautiful sunny autumn morning at St James’ Church,
Brindle and then to St Barnabas Heapey for burial. |
