Evening bike ride to Chorley Photographic Society.
Unknown to me I had been nominated for the L&CPY (Lancashire & Cheshire Photographic Union Roll of Honour. CPS President Jane Lines gave me the award and badge and there was also cake!

Only half was eaten so it was difficult getting the other half home as I was on my bike.

This morning I enjoyed another fascinating visit to the Horwich Heritage Centre to see their new “Ancient Past” exhibition.

This morning’s wander was to visit the site of the Blackburn Corporation Water Works pipe bridge over the River Hodder. It carries water from the River Dunsop in the Brennand Valley via a cast iron pipeline to Blackburn. On the bridge is a plaque that reads “Blackburn Corporation Water Works 1882. W.B.Bryan M. Inst C.E. Engineer”


This commemorates William Booth Bryan (1848 - 1914).
He was the Borough Engineer of Burnley between 1873 to 1876. Then became
Borough Engineer and Water Engineer of Blackburn from 1876 to 1882.

Ursa Major
The constellation Ursa Major (Great Bear). Top right in the photo is Polaris (North Star or Pole Star). It's my birthday and it is interesting to note that the star Merak is 79.7 light years away so I’m looking at it before I was born.
