A wet and windy night but the rain had stopped by morning. This is
my last day and I only have to ride a few miles to Scarborough to
catch the train. My original plan was to catch a mod morning train
and change in York for a train to Blackburn. I checked the
timetables again and say that a 7am train left Scarborough and
as the weather was overcast I thought I may as well go for it. I was
packed up and away by 06:20am. Fortunately the wire fence round the
caravan site was down in one place and I was able to lift my bike
over. There was nobody about as I rode by the caravans and the road
access barriers were down.
Leaving Scarborough
It was no problem as I just cycled
through the pedestrian access onto the road outside. I reached the
main A165 and decided to stay on it all the way to Scarborough. I
had to keep going as fast as possible to be sure to get to the
station in time. The wind was helping me and the ride was easy and
uneventful. I reached the station at 06:50am and found the ticket
attendant very helpful. I bought my ticket and the train left on
time at 7am. I decided to travel via Leeds as it was quicker than
York. I was Blackburn by late morning and cycled home to arrive
before Midday
