Overnight the wind became very strong and by morning the rain started and was soon very heavy. Through the day the wind strengthened and the rain became harder. It was not the weather to move on so I had to scrap the day and stay put. The temperature rose from sub zero to a mild 8decC. This meant that all the water caught up in ice and snow was released and the surrounding ground was tuned to a saturated bog. The bad weather continued through the night.
 

The day was a wash-out
