It was another cold and clear day. When I set off for my cycle ride this morning it was -7degC. Early afternoon I drove to Parlick, near Chipping and walked to the summit to watch the hang-gliders. Then I drove to Ribchester to have a look in the Roman Museum.

With bread and milk at low levels I called in at the new Tesco store on the Buckshaw estate.

It was wonderful clear and cold day so I took advantage of the conditions by walking up to Great Hill from White Coppice. This wide view image is of Drinkwater's ruin with White Coppice to the left and Great Hill to the right.

This morning I returned to Astley Hall, Chorley to continue making a photographic record of the hanging paintings and room interiors. It was a cold and sunny day and this caused me a few problems inside as some of the blinds didn't work.

Today is a free day in Kathmandu. I spent it doing a bit of sight seeing and taking some wide view photos using a special bracket (Nodal Ninja 3 MK11) on the tripod that allows me to merge many individual photos into a single view.

The first leg of our journey to the mountains was to fly to Tumlingtar. The plane was a Dornier 228, a twin-turboprop STOL (Short take off and Landing) utility aircraft carrying 19 passengers. These incredible planes operate all over the world in order to get people and cargo in and out of areas with difficult access.
